Open Position — Product Development Manager
Untyped is a provider of professional services relating to software development, with a focus on functional programming and the Scala programming language. We provide a full range of services including consulting on architecture and design, training, and a complete software development service. We are looking for an energetic individual who is excited both by business and product development but is also passionate about technology. The individual will also integrate with colleagues across the whole business, with partners and industry professionals and bodies to support key initiatives plus be a main point of contact for all new product development queries. The successful candidate will also have a role in providing business partner support and advice to leaders across the business. The successful candidate will help identify, detail and drive growth opportunities particularly with our international clients.
Job Description
- Initiate and drive strategic sales plan for each key account to maximise business growth
- Develop and take ownership of multiple projects from concept through to launch - involving leading product design and development in order to deliver a product proposition that meets the criteria (timeframe and cost) specified by the respective managers
- Work as part of a cross functional team to provide leadership on research and development and innovation projects into global markets
- Influence and work alongside various managers within the UK and US regions to develop projects that align with the product strategies
- Work closely with key clients to identify new product opportunities and assist in developing their needs
- Take on a strong understanding of the clients processes and requirements (KPI'S) and support in key negotiations
- Event management, including tech community meetups and conferences
- Participation and promotion of company sponsored events
- Engage and build relationships with different stakeholders
Skills Required
- Adaptable work style and enjoy having a wide range of projects and activities; no two weeks are ever exactly the same
- Prior experience completing organisational budgets and forecasts in collaboration with business leaders
- Professional experience working comfortably within a team but also with evidence of strong leadership skills
- Experience in working with other Microsoft and Google suite
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines, manage multiple deliverables and build cross-functional partnerships
- Comfortable working with large datasets and able to distil complex issues down to key messages
- Detail oriented
- Can-do attitude
Desired Experience
- Proven experience in identifying new markets and international brands
- Minimum 4 years of continued experience working with the tech community on varied projects
- Previous demonstrable interaction with international clients
- Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking with a full spectrum of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Previous experience of working in a management capacity with demonstrable experience of business partnering, working with, and challenging leaders from other functions/disciplines
- Extremely organised with exceptional project management skills
- Impeccable organisational skills and capable of juggling multiple competing priorities
Salary
The position offers an annual gross salary of GBP 36,000 to GBP 50,000 depending on experience. Where appropriate, travelling costs will be paid. If prolonged periods of extra work above the standard working week are requested, payment for overtime will be made. The position may also attract performance-linked incentive.
